Automobiles can be described as moving art but sometimes it is automotive art that moves us;
the works of Timothy Raines is one such example. Timothy has a passion for cars especially
Italian cars and as a result has developed an unique painting style to represent his passion.

Timothy Raines who has been painting for many years began to develop his unique abstract style
around 2002. Although it is hard to pigeonhole Timothy's style it wouldn't be too incorrect to say that there
are elements of Impressionism with a dash of Jackson Pollock. The end result is a style which
blends abstract painting with the vivid colors often seen in design and brand marketing.

Throughout his works there is a playful juxtaposition of colors and the paint itself which adds a
dimension and depth to what would otherwise be a flat canvas and image. These same colors jump off
the canvas and force the viewer to reexamine these commonplace brand images, in this case
automobile emblems, in a new and intriguing way.

Timothy's interpretation of these emblems is refreshingly new and different and has caused us to
view these emblems with a new perspective.
