Concours d'LeMons

Monterey Week has morphed into more than a week long event and now extends to about a 10 days orgy of cars, people and gasoline. Despite the crowds and the cost  Monterey week should be on every petrolhead's agenda. There is so much to see and experience from the high brow (Pebble Beach, the Quail) to the new intriguing "low brow" celebration; Concours d'LeMons.

The Concours which be held this Saturday, August 15 is at first blush might seem like an insane idea since with Alfa 8c's, rare Porsches and Ferraris who would attend an event with prize categories such as Unmitigated Gaul 1970-current, Rueful Britannia and Needless Complex Italian, pre-74. With categories like this, Concours d'Lemons promises to be a very interesting exercise.

Think of this event as Monty Python meet Pebble Beach. Concours d'LeMons encourages us not to take ourselves too seriously and to embrace the inner the beauty of a Gremlin or Pacer or even a Mustang ll.

This is the first annual event and we do hope it becomes a stable of Monterey Week right up there with Pebble Beach and the Historics.
