We should all have a life as productive as our COD, in this case not car of the day but rather car designer of the day.

Giorgetta Giugiaro who is still alive was born in 1938 and his list of cars that he design is long and influential. So influential that the he was named the Car Designer of the Century in 1999 and was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame.

The designer of the century might be debatable but what isn't is the body of work (from Bertone to Ghia to Italdesign) some of which we list below.

The Alfasud which Giugiaro considers one of his greatest designs and laid the framework for the Golf and Scirocco.

VW Golf and VW Scirocco; although both cars are very geometrical

The Maserati designs are perhaps his most famous and include:

Maserati Bora

Maserati Merak

 and the Maserati Ghibli.

The Alfa GTV which he did while at Bertone dos not thing to indicate the wedge period to follow with the like sof the Esprit and the M1.

BMW M1

and the Lotus Espirt; the first generation is the purest of the Espirt and although the later models have power these  are considered better driving cars and better looking cars.
